Follow our 3 simple steps for a seamless switchover:
- Obtain your (MAC) code
- To switch to freedom2surf from your current ISP you will need a MAC code (Migrations Authority Code). This MAC code is a unique reference that is obtained from your current ISP enabling us to migrate your ADSL service across with no down time. When requesting your MAC code from your existing ISP you will need to ensure that you make your existing ISP aware that you are switching to f2s and that you do not want your ADSL service cancelled until the transfer has been completed.
- If you don't have your Internet Service Provider's number to hand simply use our look-up tool below.
- Select your Broadband service
- Once you have your MAC code, please place your order via the phone or website, we'll need both your MAC code and current ISP information. If ordering via the website please complete the migration section of the order form.
- Then leave the rest to us
- Once you have placed your order, leave the rest to us. Within 7-10 working days your line will switch over to f2s and you will be provisioned with the fastest speed your line can support*.
* line speed will vary as this is subject to line quality.
Migrating from another ISP to freedom2surf is free and you will be subscribed to the monthly contract rates.

Frequently asked questions
- I am with NTL but wish to switch over to Freedom2surf, how do I do this?
- NTL is digital (cable) therefore you would need to approach BT directly about installing an analogue line at your premises. Once this has been installed you will need to contact NTL and discontinue your service and then place an order for Broadband.
- Will I be without Broadband during the switch over?
- You shouldn't experience any loss of service or downtime when switching ISP.
- Should I cancel my service when I request my MAC code?
- No, do not cancel your service, all you need to request is your MAC code. For the transfer to be successful you must still have Broadband on your line when you place your order with f2s. When the transfer is complete your 'old' Broadband account will automatically be cancelled, however it's best to contact your previous ISP to ensure that this has happened.
- What does a MAC code look like?
-
All MAC codes are unique but will always follow a similar format. For example:
- LXYZ1234567/AB12C
- BBIP12345678/AB23C
- FTIP3463235/AVSDG5
The start of the code will always begin with an L, then 3 letters, followed by seven digits, slash (/) then finally by five more digits which could be numbers or letters.
