Start date: 2009-01-09 18:33:33 - End date: 2009-01-19 08:03:24
We would like to give our customers advance notice of planned maintenance work. We constantly strive to develop and update our services and consequently major investment is being made in new equipment to improve our mail service. In order to minimise disruption, work on this equipment is taking place on the evening of 16th January at 22.00. During this time customers will temporarily lose access to their mailbox. Access to all mail services should resume at approximately 15.00 on Saturday 17th January. All archived emails should remain intact and any new emails received during the outage will be delivered once service has resumed. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

As you may already be aware, planned maintenance work to improve the freedom2surf mail platform was scheduled to take place this evening (16th January at 22.00). This decision was taken after the issues with our legacy email platform over the last few weeks. However today we experienced a fault with our legacy platform which has meant that we have had to bring forward the planned maintenance work and start immediately. We have already migrated 50% of customers to our new, more robust platform. We plan to complete the migration of remaining 50% by the end of today. Please be aware that once the mail services are restored, new mail received during this time may take a little longer than usual to reach your mail box. We will provide a further update when the migration to the new mail server is completed. We apologise in advance for the disruption and for any inconvenience this may have caused.
